with certain providers you need to contact them to set it up for you. It's a different APN. I suggest you give them a call.

Why do you say if wap works then internet should? I have a similar problem to this in Italy with TIM. Wap over GPRS works fine as does wap gsm but without the specific settings (if they exist) for Internet you can't use Opera.

Thank you for the help. I will try to address ali your suggestions.
First - I have 2 different questions. The third is an answer.
Second - I can access the internet on the SE supplied browser. Opera Says It can not connect to any website. I have tried all kinds. I was under the impression that WAP-GPRS and GPRS were different. Are they different?
Third - I have called tech support. They only support phone setups on phones they offer. None are close to the P800.
thanks again :}l

I have sent Suncom this E-mail to get more information. I will submit the reply when I get one.
Dear Suncom,
I am enjoying your Suncom service. I think that my reception is the best and is getting better, I have M-Net and that has been a real treat. I have a few questions about your services and timing on future services. I will be posting this E-Mail and your reply on Esato and several other forums so that other users with the same questions can find answers.
First - WAP-GPRS and GPRS
I understand that there is a difference between WAP-GPRS and GPRS. I know that I currently uses WAP-GPRS which is limited to WAP sites and does not give the phone a DNS number to access standard HTML web. I would like to use my GPRS account to allow my computer to connect to the web. Also, on my Sony Ericsson p800 I would like to use the opera browser (See Link Below.) Since AT&T offer GPRS I was wondering if Suncom does? Can Suncom subscribers use the AT&T access point? If the answer is no… When will you? If you have not made a decision when would be a good time to ask again?

Second - POP3 E-Mail
When you offer GPRS (Which is different than WAP-GPRS that I currently have set up) The Sony Ericsson T300 and P800 I have both can use POP3 E-mail. Can my account access a Pop3 account? If so, how do I get my T300 setup? If not, when will you be offering a POP3 E-Mail access? AT&T offers this feature. See the link below.

Third - MMS
As you may know more and more phones offer MMS messaging. Both my phones offer this feature. Do you have this feature on your network? If not when will you offer it?

I am not looking to switch from Suncom to get these features. However as phones become more sophisticated, these services will attract more users. Thank you in advance for your reply.

To use Opera browser or check your email with a P800 you need a internet GPRS account. The P800 built in browser can connect using both WAP GPRS and internet GPRS account. The difference between these two is that data sent and received with the WAP GPRS is transferred using the WAP protocol. The data is binary encoded in the WAP gateway before it is sent to the client (P800). This is done to reduce the amount of data transferred and to lighten the rendering work for the WAP device. I believe the WAP gateway also validates the content before it is sent to the client.
To use Opera and/or POP3/IMAP email with the P800, you need to set up a non-WAP GPRS account. Opera will not work with a WAP account.
Sony Ericsson has a service where you can set up MMS, E-mail and WAP with a few clicks. I could not find your operator (GPRS bearer) in this list of email but they might have one anyway. Wait for the replay to the mail you sent them.
