Hi all

Sorry for the huge subject but I didn't know how best to explain it.

Whats happened is that my P800 ran out of C drive space and deemed the most appropriate solution was to format the drive :S

Now, I can handle the software loss, picture loss and the cute SMS that my girlfriends sent me but I cannot do without my phonebook !

The problem I have is that the last restore has all manner of other crap that I do not want on my C drive now that I have a 128MB Duo card.

Hence, I have restored it back to this and now I want to copy the phone book to some location, so that I can format the drive again and copy just the contacts back to the phone.

I cant copy to the SIM because the contacts have addresses, emails and all manner of other crap.

Please suggest the best course of action for my desperate plee for help.

Thanks all.

Leon

Go to Contacts. Select the 'Contacts' menu and choose 'Send this folder'. This will copy all your contacts into a file named all.vcf. Move it to your pc, format the P800 and send the all.vcf back to the P800 and open it.

This solution, along with at least one other, is readily available through a search...

Another good tip (well, I think it's good!) is to use ftp800 to transfer the vcf file to your webspace. Mine is around 20k, so it doesn't eat your GPRS to badly.

I've got a little "recovery" folder going which contains various copies of my contacts, SIS files, licence codes etc - so if my phone dies when I'm away (as has happened before!) I can recover most of the apps and all my phonebook easily from a replacement handset.
