Hi !

I received a test e-mail from my friend in Japan that had a photo attached. The photo is a small size...

I can't read the e-mail in the Z600 because it is in Japanese, i.e. Kanji and Hiragana so I see the message 'invalid character set'.

Just above I can see a file icon with a paper clip showing me there is an attachment but I did not know how to view it on the Z600.

If I use my Tungsten T3 and the Z600 together and download the e-mail to Iambic Mail I can view the e-mail in Japanese and also I can see the photo that is attached.

So the question is 'How do I view this attachment on the Z600?'

Thanks!

as with the T68/T68i/T610 and now T630, you cannot do anything with attachments received in email on the Z600.

The only thing you can do is get the picture sent in an MMS message

That's the thing though, on page 51 it says "you can receive an email with attachments. The attachments can be found at the end of the message" i tested it with a small 101x80 pic, but it never showed up. This message was posted from a T300

Hi!

thanks for your replies! I agree with both of you. I don't see it at the end of my message because the messages only says 'invalid text'.

I think I will call S-E support....wonder what they think?

Well, they say you can only see attachments when viewed online but the manual p.51, clearly talks about receiving e-mails with attachments. Furthermore, this is in the section of the manual that relates to Pop3 and IMAP accounts!

@ ofiaich: "..clearly talks about receiving e-mails with attachments.". Hehhe it iseems that`s not clear enough for u: it talks about receiving emails with attachments, not SEEING them on ur phone. That's not possible, unfortunately.U'll have to get urself a P900 for that.

thanks for your reply!

No need for a P900 because most of my e-mails are written in Japanese Kanji and Hiragana so I just connect, using bluetooth, to my Tungsten T3 and I can see the Japanese text as well as the attachment.

I don't think the P900 can handle Japanese scripts.......whereas the T3 can.

It's just for the occasion that I don't take a PDA with me.

Anyway, it seems silly to be able to download the attachment to the Z600 and then not be able to do anything with it. Data Support at S-E also agree with that notion!

What it also may be refering to aswell is that yo can actually send attachments from the phone with a pic in. So thats what they might have meant.
