> Battery Meter its gone! Why se tell me why?
Bookmark topic
Does anybody apart from me miss the Battery Standby/Talktime meter that was present on the T and R Series Ericssons? In all new SE models its gone which is quite surprising seeing that sony camcorders and digi cams have info lithium batterys that will tell you the remaining standby time!
It simply doesnt make sense - it was a great feature on ericssons and sony use this technology already.
I ask you - why was it dropped??????????
I want it back!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah it was a cool feature and i miss it on my t610. I remember someone saying SE removed it because the remaining battery time figure was not accurately represented.. But who cares
? At least it gave u vague a idea as to how long the battery would last. Although omission of this feature on subsequent models is not the end of the world, it was these technical nuances that made the old models stand out.

Where did they have those LED's?
The only LED I can think of is the one blinking...

I miss the two features too. Particularly the Standby Time and talk time left.
Most of all I don't quite understand why they replaced it with the model name... I mean, I know I own a t610, do I really have to be reminded??
LEDs are a more complicated matter. I would like to have them only if they blinked in a different way to tell me when I have sms or missed calls. In fact, with the T68, they did so but only for a limited time...
Hope you understood what I am talking about.
I think I could live without them, but they were quite good features once you got used to them.
There is one more feature that I miss, although completely useless, but nevertheless fun: THE JOYSTICK COUNTER...

The excuse of inaccuracy doesn't really stand up, sonys meter isn't exceptionally accurate either yet they persist in using them. The ericsson manual stated to allow an error of 10%, i allowed a bit more but it was something cool and every1 with a blockia was amazed my old r520 could show such data!

I remeber I read somewhere that

removed because many many people called

and asked why the standby/talktime meter was. They thought their phone was broken.

I was told by an engineer (a friend of mine) at SE that the battery meter was removed because it was almost impossible to calculate the remaining standby with todays phones. The T610 I was told uses about 80mW when it uses the screen and only 1mW when in standby. Also when using GPRS or any games the standby is heavily reduced and the accuracy of the meter is not good enough.
On the T28 the meter was very accurate beacuse the power usage was almost constant except when you were talking. The T39 was not as accurate an then the T68 was even worse. And the T610 is of course one notch wose than the T68. Therefore the meter was removed.
