my gf and i are going to cancun mexico in september. i have been told there is no gsm service ther so i cant take my t68.
is this true and if so what is a iDEN phone and more importantly where do i get one????

Nextel in the US and Phillipines, or Mike (Telus Mobility) in Canada, among others. But I don't think you can get them without a subscription.
There are the Motorola i2000 and i2000 Plus which are dual mode iDEN/GSM.

nextel in peru use mobiles IDEN (SIM CARD) the models i30sx, i85s, i90c, i95cl, i205, i530, i730, i830. somebody has applications for these models??? :S

Check, but Telcel and Telefonica Moviles should have 1900MHz GSM/GPRS coverage in Cancun.
