> Sound file transfer program (t68i)
Bookmark topic
I've recorded a sound file using the voicerecorder in my T68i. I need it for a project. Unfortunately, it's ten minutes long, which pushes it over the 300kB MMS max limit my operator accepts. So I cannot send it to my computer and the T68 doesn't support sending soundfiles via the e-mail client either. Besides, that'd be expensive as hell.
So I ask you. Does there exist an application which allows you to up/download stuff to your T68i? It's particularly the au soundfiles I'm after. I got a serial cable.
Thanks /Grape

I don't know about the AU. The sounds you record using dictaphone have the extension AMR. And I don't think you can transfer those sounds via Serial cable. Use somebodys bt dongle or IR port - that works for sure. Cheers

Or just set the volume of T68i on maximum level, put the microphone of computer against the phone and re-record the sound from phone to the computer. If the first record has not the worst quality, maybe it helps.

Pardon me, but how do you send the amr's out of the phone? Pressing the option button whilst having selected a recording doesn't give me an option for that.

You must go to My Sounds, select the recording you want to send, select send and than choose the metod you want to send the sound with. You can't do that from Sound Recorder. Just a tip for recordings: go to Sound Recorder, play one recording and hold the joystick to the left or right, you can "seek" your recordings. This is maybe an old one but it doesn't hurt anybody :-D

the above advice about using either Bluetooth or Infrared in true.
However, once you manage to transfer the sound file (.amr format) you'll need to do some more work to be able to play it.
Two options:
1. leave in .AMR format and use 'Spot XDE player' from
www.voiceage.com to play it.
This approach is easiest if you don't need anyone else to keep a copy.
It also preserves the much smaller file sizes you get with .amr
2. convert to wave with the .amr/wave converter from
www.miksoft.8m.com
Watch the file size blow out when you convert!
I've got and use both but prefer leaving as native .amr.
I Bluetooth recordings from my T68i to my Toshiba Tablet practically every day, so that I have a backup and can keep my phone memory free.
Hope this all helps.
