I just recently had a 'trojan' virus in my PC, about 4 days now. I tried looking for it (got it from the net), tried locating it thru my files but just failed. I have doubts here that the Symantec Norton Co. just made it up to renew my anti-virus registration with them, mine will expire next week. Is the trojan virus that deadly ?, what if I failed locating and deleting it from my PC ? , will it create havoc? I looked for it's specs, and the threat was only at it's lows, nothing to be afraid here I suppose . . . What gives ? Help !

What trojan is it supposed to be?
Generally, If you followed all of the instructions for indentifying and removing it as given on an independent site (not bloody Norten and the like), and couldn't find any of the files or registry enteries on your PC then it's a fairly safe bet you haven't got it.
This is why I like AVG. It's free, it's unobtrusive and more importantly, it works really well.

at the moment i'm using PCcillin because i get it free. it seems to do the job, and this latest version got some fairly sterling reviews. prior to that i was a Norton user.

@cycovision - I guess the virus trojan comes in various forms/models if I can safely say here . . . I just forgot the one intruded my PC, though it's been inside the sytem for 4 days now, and my PC is just doing the normal thing. I am just not used to having/seeing viruses when updating my files with that of Norton, if so, they were easily deleted nor removed in the past. My apologies again @cycovision for having not remembered the whole specs of the trojan virus I am telling you about, lest, I am very thankful . . .
