Hey all, couldn't really figure where to post this thread so i put it here!

I have just tried to upload a file using www.uploadit.com and they are now charging people to use their service. They are offering a free trial but the file size is limited!

Does anybody know of any other FREE sites where i can upload files or pics so that i can display them in Esato forums???

Cheers in advance

I tried to ask about that myself some weeks ago but the only thing i ended up with was a norwegian host. So it will probably not help you that much.

Which ISP are you with? Don't they provide a bit of free web space?

I mean, like AOL or NTL do, I think several of the other big players do too.

@scott

Yeah, that's what I do, works fine!

If you need an ftp program, do a google search for ace ftp. Works great and it's free

@mkush

The img src or BB img codes just point to the absolute address of the image, so if your website is at 'www.mysite.com', and you have a folder within your site called 'images' that contains the picture you want to display, your code would point to 'www.mysite.com/images/my_image.jpg'

It's exactly the same as displaying images on a webpage using html, except obviously you can't use relative addressing (/images/my_image.jpg), only absolute addressing.

Likewise, if you want to link to a file then yes, you do just display the absolute addy of the file, eg. www.mysite.com/my_theme.thm

Bear in mind though, that if you want wap users to be able to download stuff directly from your site, you will need to set the MIME types for your server.

@Cycovision

Yeah im def gonna do that now. I use Dreamweaver MX it has built in FTP, its very good.

The only concern i have is that i don't want other people who are visting my site, coming across my images. This is my business's website u see!

Any ideas or tips?
