> Can you shut the message alert up?

If you read
my other forum, then you may realize that this needs solving. But not the problem you may think. Ever been in the library or in school and forgot to turn your phone off? Then you get a message and it rings! Ah!
PLEASE DON'T RESPOND IF ALL YOU ARE GONNA SAY IS TO REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR SOUND OFF!!!
When the message alert is in the middle of ringing, can you turn it off? I try pushing "Back", but this doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Sorry, good point. My phone's a T616. And what do you do if you have the auto keylock on? Just pushing yes doesn't do anything if you're getting bombarded by messages!

How about setting up a profile which you can use which is on full volume but has the click for the message alert so all you hear is a single click. Plus that to the comment about how to stop it. Firstly the T610 is a quiet phone as it is. If by pressing the back button it shut the phone up this would then be a stupid feature simply because when the phone is in your pocket the button may press against something and thus your won't hear you important phonecall which is incoming, or a text message.
I think the best cure is to just simply to remeber to put it on silent or set up a profile so the messages aren't loud or the messages are just a click so it will not attract attention.

either that or switching your message alert off (alert silent) permanently (could set the vibrator instead)
