I've recently switched from t68 to z600. I've tranferred my contacts across via the sim but am having some problems. If there was more than one number for a given contact (eg home and mobile) then the contact appears twice in the address book. What am I doing wrong??

Sorry bout that, joystick ain't up to much.

My bro transferred all his phonebook fine. With the same two phones as well, though what you described happened when the phonebook was sent to a motorola a835.

Have you tried transferring all your contacts via IR or ?

The multiple names when a contact has more than one phone number usually happens when you use the SIM as a mode of transferring contacts. It's because a SIM card has only a single space for every name, while todays high-end phones have multiple spaces/entries.

Get/borrow another SIM and transfer all your contacts directly (IR or ). It will be easier.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately my old phone is an Orange phone while my new one is O2. So I have to use the old Orange SIM to transfer the numbers across as the new O2 SIM won't work in the Orange phone. I may try the IR option. But how can I transfer all the contacts across via IR in one go. I'm hoping I don't have to do it one by one!

just go to phone book/advanced/send all on T68 then choose either IR or BT and send everything. don't bother with transfer by SIM! That's whar IR/BT is for!

just make sure you either turn on either the IR or BT on the Z600 on before you send.

Good news. I managed to successfully tranfer my contacts across via blutetooth as per your advice. Thanks for the tips; you probably saved me hours of resorting!
