I bought iSMS 8 days ago at January 22,2004.
First of all there is nothing on the site that point to the fact that you need Booster 4.0 to use this program and we know that booster need a lot of memory space to be installed. These are the requirements from the site.
"Requirements
GPRS or any other internet conection "

Second,on the site say
"iSMS includes 10 free credits!"
They gave to "include" a new meaning.
After installing the program you need to ASK with email for your 10 free credits. That mean if you buy the program Friday night you will be lucky to recieve the 10 free credits Monday morning because they dont work weekends(nothing wrong with that of course ).I am curious why you have to do that? Why the 10 credits are not "included" in the program itself. So i did payed them at January 22,asked for the free credits same day and got them January 26 at noon.(that mean for 4 days you will be unable to use the program,if you make it work of course).

This program was writen originally for P800 (the downloaded file name is isms.p800 ) and they promote it as software for P800/P900.
As soon as i tried to pu the credits on my phone by clicking settings (this is where you fill the ID,Login and Password so you can use the credits) a message poped up saying "Error code:13,Description:type mismatch,Source:iSMS" and then the program closes.

After 2 emails with full description of the phone software, all the programs installed on the phone and the problem as it appears on the phone screen, the answer from the technical stuff was..

"Dear Sir,

Please enter your settings, and the problem should be solved.

Best regards,
Support Team"

I am wondering if they really want to sell their program or just to make Handago loose clients.Because even if the program is developed by i-nside (www.I-NSIDE.com) i bought it from Handango and i believe they are responsible for programs they sell on their site.

I sended them a third email today and i will keep forum informed about the day of their reply and the answer i'll get.

By the way i have a P900,an excellent phone so far,a lot better than my previous P800
Cheers

If you needed other software for it to work, they should have said so. As for the support your getting, if it's a uk based company and your in the uk, contact trading standards. Failing that have a word with your credit card company, they should be able to help. This message was posted from a T300

Koha.. I have been experiencing the same thing as you. I was really dissapointed with the fact that i had to install another program for this to work, which meant that i got a loada "out of memory" errors. I also have been unable to buy anymore credits for the software. I have no choice but to put it down to a bad experience and kiss my money goodbye.

Handango should check the software before selling it!!

The company is based in the States and i am based in Greece but i will block the card payment anyway if they dont solve the problem.
Shinyspoon why you cannot buy anymore credits?I checked today Handango site and they offer 100 credits for 9 something $,that mean about 8 €

I have had iSMS for about a month or so, and I have had no probs with it at all (Orange P900).
Also bought 100 extra credits, they were activated too about a day after purchase.
The way the purchase works is though you have to e-mail them to activate your 10 credits, handandgo (or wherever you bought it from) also send them the details of your purchase to confirm it

As i promised details about the responce from i-nside follow up.
They sended me a file called iSMSTweaker.p800.sis whith instructions what to do.With this file you are able to install the settings and then you just deinstall the .sis file.
What is impressive is that the mail was send Suturday,January 31,2004 2:35 PM.So they actually work even weekends.
After some problems i managed to make it works. The problem was that iSMS do NOT recognise an already dial up established connection and it fail to send the messages. But if you open the dial up connection from within the iSMS when you click on send button then it works fine.(for all those that are not familiar with the programm you must use an internet connection to send the messages). It works fine, and the recipient see as sender the fake number you used as it is stored in HIS own phonebook.Of course you can use a weird name and not a phone number,as it is Lord of the rings,or Santa or Valentine etc.
Also you must not use the full internation prefix but the one listed on site, its usually the prefix without the + or the 00 in front.
Deanlambert, usually you need one credit for every message but there are some countries or some operators that you might need 1,5 or 2 credits. There is a list on the site with the credits needed for every operator in every country.See at www.i-nside.com .
So after all the program works fine but i have the feeling that people at i-nside could do easier our lifes whithout loosing so much time to make program work.
So in a scale of 10 i give an 8.

Thank you for the lesson NK8 .
You know some times people do make mistakes when they write but keep in mind that i am a foreigner.I am Greek and english is not my birth language.
Beside that you know that there are a lot of people, native Englishmen or Americans who theach us wrong tense. As for example i paste the answer i recieved from i-nside.(It's an American company)

"Dear Sir,

Please install the application that we send attached to this email, enter
the settings on it, and then desintall it.

Best regards,
Support Team"

Any way your lesson is most wellcome
Cheers
