Hello,
I had heard here in Esato before that during the night, the phone's battery is drain about 2-3%.
Well, I've noticed that during the night my battery likes to drain between 5-13%.
Well... my battery in brand new, is it normal?
I using the black screen-clock screen saver, does it save from the battery? If I don't use any screen saver it will help to save power?
Help me solve this thing...

Thanx!
Ido.

The following would improve battery life:

1. Use a task manager to close down back ground apps
2. Do not have GPRS permenantely attached
3. Obvious - shut down BT

A more active social life, involving late nights and "taxi before breakfast" type mornings would also work a treat as well !

And you can put it in flight mode, then you don't get innoying phonecalls at night, and it saves alot of battery.

Since you don't want to be disturbed by 'annoying phone calls in the middle of the night' and you're not going to use any of the numerous functions of your phone while you're asleep, why not just turn it off and save a lot more battery power than just switching to 'flight mode'?

If you want to keep all (if not most) of the functions on at night, just remove your screensaver (starting an animated SS, or keeping the clock active eats up a bit of power), and set the screen shut down to the earliest possible time. The screen of both the P800 and 900 eat up more juice than any other function on the phone, except calling of course. But leaving BT on, and GPRS connected doesn't suck up half as much juice as the animated screensaver or waking up the screen every few min to check on the time or an appointment.

I may not like receiving phone calls at night, but I have made sure that close friends & family can still reach me in an emergency... my P800 is set to screen calls. (This is by far the best feature that Ericsson ever introduced!!! I believe it began with the R520 and T39)

Flight mode works well too if you want your P800/900 to wake you up the next day.

Maybe those who requrie the phone as an alarm, should bite the bullet and just buy a normal alarm (a nice mains with battery backup, just in case:-), thus saving the phone battery full stop...

That is of course different if you like to be waken in the night by stray phone calls or text messages, however!
