Audiovox have announced their latest handset, the CDM-8910. The new phone is a tri-mode 800 MHz CDMA / 800 MHz MPS / 1900 MHz PCS / CDMA2000 1x unit with GPSOne built-in, measuring 89 x 48 x 22 mm and weighing in at a tidy 91 g.


The feature-rich Audiovox CDM-8910

The 8910 offers the now-common dual LCD displays, with the main screen a 1.8-inch TFT running at 260K and 128 x 60 resolution. The outer screen is 1-inch, 96 x 64 and also a 260K TFT. Further imaging ability is offered by the 1.3 MP CMOS digital camera, complete with flash and macro function.

This is one of few phones offered outside of Japan to include a camera running at a resolution higher than VGA, and one of only a handful that boast a built-in flash. Interestingly, the camera features an auto-sensing capability, presumably for activating the flash.

The phone is also equipped with Java / BREW functionality, 32-voice polyphonic tones, voice-activated dialling, speakerphone and a USB data interface.

U know what unless SE comes out with a 1.3 MP cam/phone first im def getting this!!....Im sick of those low res crap phones that we have at the moment!..

nice phone yes... but not for the main European market since
CDMA2000 is only available in a few countries in Europe, the rest of the system CDM-8910 supports are not availble in Europe.

About time as well, I'm fed up with the Japs getting all the cool stuff. Some of the Jap phones have 2 Mega pixels. I'm so jealous.

the new sharp gx 22 (i think its called) is also sproting a 1.3 mega pix camera as well as a 260k internal and 65k external.
though in keeping with the others in the range probably no bluetooth and limited connectivity still if you want a camera phone with a great screen

Yes antichrist completely agree!....Its not as if SE dont have a 1.3 MP phone;If they can sell one in japan they can sell em elsewhere too!!...Dont know why they send all the rubbish to Europe and elsewhere and keep the good stuff for themselves!!...Z1010 should have been 1.3 MP.

@axxxr yes.... SE makes good phones, but already on the P900 they could have put in a 1.3 mpx camera... not to talk about Z1010... japanese market allready have one 1,3 phone from SE.. now its on time that Europe gets one
