What are the reasons a thread could be sent to garbage and others aren't?

You cant start a new topic in the garbage thread. It is only made so the moderators can move threads that doesent fit in any other threads to the garbage thread.

It just seems that there is no standard for these sort of things here, no calibration in the moderation. Take
this thread for example. How is it different from any of the other threads in the Mobile Phone Free Zone? Why was it moved when others are not?
Also, there is a General board, a Mobile Phone Free Zone, and the Garbage board. These all seem to serve the same purpose, discussion on non wireless topics.
Too much disorganization and too little calibration IMO. Maybe more moderation is needed IM
HO.

Pm d mods and ask them, think its pointless 2 look 4 any answer, esato works on this way since years. Probably because of handling and fixing d threads on this way.

the garbage forum has a description of "Read at your own risk!" so that is another reason why things are put in there.
For that reason I tend to put things there that are a little risque, or for reasons that cytech and others described, and also threads that are perhaps in mobile phone free zone but are of limited or obscure interest or perhaps of no real value to Esato.
Although there is a mobile phone free zone forum I don't think it should really be considered a dumping ground for creating threads for the first thing that comes into peoples mind and there is never anything personal towards the initial poster when I move threads to garbage.
In my opinion if a thread is worth the bytes it consumes, then it will thrive in garbage as well as it will anywhere else. The fact that many threads die once placed there suggests that the move was a correct one
in summary, looking at the forums you mention
The "General discussion : general" forum is for general discussions about mobile phones and related topics that don't fit into another mobile phone related forum
The "General discussions : mobile phone free zone" forum is for topics of general interest that are not related to mobile phones
The "General discussions : garbage" forum is pretty much what I described earlier
As for the comment about some threads being moved and some not, well although I personally try to look at every single thread to get a feel for it, and sometimes research it a bit further with google etc to try and understand it, I and the other moderators probably will miss some threads from time to time but eventually when people reply to them again and they are visible in the new posts, then they will get picked up. We are only human after all and the moving of threads will be a little subjective from time to time.

Well for your example snap-hiss I must say wtf are you talking about ?! from what I see it's clearly garbage until you explain what you talk about, then maybe it wouldn't be considered as junk

I'll assume you're refering to the link I provided as an example. No offense but what part didn't you understand? I find it pretty clear.
