ok - so i admit i know FA about programming, but i've been reading some explainations off people why there are no apps in flip closed mode. the feeling i get is that flip closed mode on the p900 is really a program produced by SE that runs on symbian.

this is why its hard the produce flip closed apps.

i wonder if it is possible for a program running in flip open to disable the little button under the flip that tells the phone if its open or not (like some games assign new functions to the camera and web buttons)

this way a program like goboy could be started in flip open, and then we could close the flip and use the buttons on it.

java games in particular would benifit as they are only played on the screen area of flip closed anyway - if only we could close the flip without it knowing!

can any programers tell me why this is not possible?

Ure ldea is pretty stupid..

because if that were the case we could just put the keyflip over the screen without connecting it.

I only got my P900 the other day. However i've come to realize with the flip closed, the phone to me seems quite 'limited', i never really expected it to be quite so limited, but assumed maybe i just missed the boat somewhere. My main gripe @ the moment is that i can't seem to find a way to get to 'pictures' or anything? I can view the pic, i've taken in the CommuniCam, but thats all. Seems crazy how something so 'simple' i can't access without opening the flip... Is there a way to get to Pictures, without opening the phone?

it is possible someone just needs to make it,, some money can be going your way ya know (thats right ANYBODY CREATES THE PROGRAM CAN MAKE A HUGE SOME OF MONEY BY PUTTING THE HEADS TO IT, I WOULD BUY IT)

it can be done,

I mean the idea, is logical, but at the same time some points are illogical, people could create their games with the keyboard being in the same shape as the keyflip and then u could disable the keyflip program, but u could also do the same but never connect the keyboard just remove it and put it over the phone, but thats stupid.

@yazan

you have a point there

if only the little bit on the keybpad that pushes the button in, can be detached like a clip in or something, we could remove it when playing games and clip it back when finished

but it would be ace if you could disable the function

i wouldnt be too sure on this but i think the keyflip program is something that is stored in the A: or Z: drives therefore making it very difficult to program around. But Sman and OggPlay both work in flip closed (although with limited functions, just like everything in FC). My guess is that whilst in FC the phone has a very limited capacity to actually do anything...let alone run goBoy. But hey we can all dream!
