Yes you can type an sms with flip closed. You select the message icon then choose create sms then press the option button again to add the recipient and then you can type your message. Then press the option button and choose send.
There you go. Its easy and its fast.

U know it only works as a phone with the flip attached and open and first u must perform two revolutions of the jog dial and remove the battery cover!!
But seriously, what a question

I only got my fone today... left the bloody manual @ work...
How do you enable T9?
Off topic - hopefully this is an easy one:
I got a 128Mb Duo in there too, and i've wanted to wang over some mp4's via Bluetooth. Only problem is, they transfer automatically to the internal memory, not external. It obviously runs out of space. How can i change the 'default' memory storage, to the external Duo media?
Sorry for Hi-jacking the thread, i have a tonne of newbie questions, and 'search' in these forums isn't the greatest... Would anyone oblige to me making a newbie post? *blush*
(dammit, why the F**k did i leave the manual @ work! :| )
Cheers guys.
Signed, a happy new P900'er

You can enable T9 by holding the * button for a second.
As for file transfer, I recommend going through the docking station, or using a Flash card reader (MUCH FASTER!!!)

Sounds great, the file transfer... except i am on Mac OS X. Virtual PC is slow as hell...
