This was taken from a portuguese website.
Just to place you Portugal and Spain have approximatelly a population of 50 million:
A free translation made by me (sorry for any grammar incorrection):
Sony Ericsson sold about 1.5 million phones in Spain and Portugal during 2003. According to the manufacturer, it's a 40% increase in comparison with 2002. Overall sales in the Iberian division of SE increased 35%, being around 200 M Euros.
«Sony Ericsson's CEO for Iberian market, Raśl Ortiz, added that 2.3 million phones were sold only in Spain, which means a market share growth from 5% in 2002 to 10% in 2003. This means that sales in Portugal were of about 200.000 phones (

).
SE expects to have a selaes growth of 20% for this year in the Iberian Peninsula. It also expects an overall sales growth of 25%, achieved by sales of more expensive terminals (Multimedia and UMTS).
From the total terminals sold by SE in 2003, 70% are multimedia phones (MMS and color display), and 25% are phones with integrated camera. SE wishes to increase camera phones' share to 50% in 2004.
3G terminal will start being sold in June.»
This makes me think:
- T6XX have a good growth possibility in Iberian market.
- Z1010 will be out in June (same time as 3G is available, at least in Portugal)
- I wish more SEs would be sold in Portugal. By comparison Spain has bought many more SE phones (Portugal's population - 10 millions; Spain's population - 40 million, i think).

Portugal is still dominated with that "it“s Nokia, it“s good" thinking, but things are changing, t610 and z600 are having lots of sucess - there were no t610“s in stock near Christmas!
I think it will be better if SE can lauch a great t650, and a "P100", a lighter smartphone to compete with the likes of Nokia 3650, that it“s all over the place here.
