if u hold left of your joystick left for certain period of time .. it will go to your sms inbox.... and right u will go to your call contact ... go try it .. heheh my be some of you already knew about it ..

With the mms upgrade, it's eaiser to record a call, by pressing the options button, then yes.
So the first position in shortcuts is better for something else.. like new sms for example (like I have
