> Is my DUO dead? Please Help!
Bookmark topic
I've been having some problems with my p8 lately,
sudden crashes and blackouts.
But today when trying to play some oggs, it couldn't find it.
Turns out my phone didn't detect D: anymore.
So i took it out, and after putting it in to format it, the phone kept hanging so formatting was impossible.
I then formatted it on my pc with a 7-in1 card reader, but now it won't do anything anymore.
D: is visible in filemanager but when i access it it justs reverts back to A:
What am i supposed to do?
Any suggestions, help etc.
The problems started a few weeks after installing sman... that's about the most radical thing i've done with it in months.

this worked for me (i also have used the 7 in one reader,)
so you may be in luck here
format it on the pc again,,
yea
then
put in the p900 again then take a photo, but make sure the folder the image is going to save is unfiled in your memory folder.
dont do anyother fiddling around witht the functions
after that the image will take a while to save itself
then the relavant p900 folders should have been created
this should work - IF this does NOTwork then your using a different make duo

Almost the same thing happened with my old 128 duo (white one). After taking a few videos, the duo could not be used on any sony/sonyericsson mobile appliance (e.g. p900/p800, sony digi cams) , however, I could still read/write data on it using a pc reader.
I also tried switching read/write lock on the back of the duo but, that too didn't work.
In addition, reformatting the duo using the pc reader still didn't make it readable on the phone and I definitely couldn't reformat it using my phone.
Luckily, someone gave me the good idea of formatting the faulty duo on the pc reader and then copying the whole file system(hidden and non-hidden files, including subfolders) of a working duo which was formatted using the p900.
The p900 could now read data on the faulty duo that I copied on it using the pc reader, unfortunately, it is still identified as "read only"by the p900 and still could not be used on other sony gadgets.
Hope this helps, and I hope someone could also help make my faulty duo re-writeable.

Same thing happened to me. I lost contact with the Duo. I removed it and tried with the memory stick reader on the PC and everything looked ok. Took a backup of the P900 and formatted the C:, not the D: drive. That solved the problem for me.

Thank you guys so much!
At first nobody replied, but thankfully it got picked up and now my duo works again!!
I thought @jprsa's suggestion was the most plausible, but being far from my laptop i gave @MominIslam's suggestion a try first and it worked!
Simple but brilliant.
And it's nice to see other people benefitted from my problem's solutions.
So once again: @MominIslam, jprsa and sbc_dk thanks alot guys.
You've made me a happy man! :D
