WOW... and price still ain't dropped much... is it better than the XDA or worse? I understand that the XDA has the better OS

Well i'd save up and get the xda2 before the xda(withnonumberafterit:-)...

The p900 is a viable alternative though... depends very much upon what you want... and how much money you have to spend since the xda2 doesn't attract much of an initial price reduction even at higher tariffs (just an general observation, though not a rule i suppose)

XDA is bigger.
XDA has win mobile 2003.
P900 is lighter, smaller, more standby, more talktime.
I have used iPAQs for last 3 years and P900 OS is better and more stable (IMO).
P900 is more pocketable and sync is more stable!

I got my first one on 4th November (in UK),
the comparisson with the XDAII is a matter of personal choice, XDAII is bigger, but has a high level of serious business apps available, also a cheap choice of memory cards where the P900 is more of an everyday phone (great one handed use) with PDA features.
I have used both & i would not consider the XDAII for easy everyday phone use, simply because the P900's keypad is VERY well designed, it had to be because that old p800 keypad was awfull, it lost SE alot of respect with people keen to have a fast one handed SMS/MMS input option.
When SE decided on a size for the Pxxx series, they may not have realised at the time, but they just happened to get it EXACTLY correct for a PDA/phone,....... that is until flexible roll-out screens hit the street.

Release dates really start with a mention of it in a Press Release. Which is why I was able to obtain receipt of mine on the third week of October in the US (sim-free/unlocked) while it wasn't technically launched by SE USA until a couple weeks ago... I believe the first ones sold in the EU weren't until the 4th week of October, but mostly early November (EU mainly sold branded/locked units). Some people had one in September, but they were dev. models.
