Dear SE,

Please try to make some good phones without cameras. There will be people who are very interested to get it. How about something like the T68/T68i which got bluetooth and all the functions which one needs. But without the camera.

Now you have came out with the T630. Why not make it as the base model for one without a camera? It will attract many to get it.

I myself got an excellent digital camera and honestly I really despise the quality of the pictures. Also, such features eats into the battery life and there goes the usage life too. Come on. You don't need to follow what other manufacturers are doing.

Haven't you read something on people buying camera phones but not using MMS at all? There is a market for no camera phones with great features and functions. Alot of people are eagerly waiting for such phones. Its a matter of time when someone will do that. By then, you are too late. (you had been always been slow...maybe you should look into your marketing department. They aren't doing their job!!!)

But they don't have bluetooth. They don't have 65K color screens. Don't they have something like the T610, Z600 or even T630 without the camera but just the phone itself? Come on....I am talking about phones with functions. Z200 and T230 are just way too 'simple' perhaps.

but my argument is still that the cost of putting a camera in a phone must be so small so as not to be worth tooling the production line to make a non camera version of that same phone

I too have an excellent 5megapixel camera but wouldn't dream of sending pics that big through my phone. I use the camera on my T630 and P900 frequently for quick snaps to family and friends.

Its simple really, if you don't like the camera on the phone and don't wanna use it, then don't. I'm sure there are other features of the phones people don't use but I don't see people asking to have a T630 version without, say, MMS which I personally never use.

Finally, I can hardly believe that because a phone has a camera is a reason for people to not buy the phone

i think the common consensus with phone manufacturers is that a phone with 65k colours and should have a cam to complete the package tbh.

I hardly ever use the cam on my Z600..... i NEVER use MMS coz I can't send it directly to a foreign phone anyway and cannot receive from anything but a domestic phone either..... it's utter useless....

nor do i play games a lot..... but hey the features are there and i still wanted this phone

another fairly basic phone, although this one does have bluetooth. no built in camera but it accepts the MCA camera accessory. For north american market only (CDMA)

i'm surprised people dont seem to use MMS much. Well i should say i didnt before i got my new phone but now orange are doing orange world or something like that you get 150 photo msgs along with 10mb internet etc for £6 a month! Its the best thing orange have done yet

unfortunately i havee to agree with the sentiment of the originator; i have friends who work in the local dockyard (military) and they are stuck with old handset 'cause they arent allowed to take camphones in to work... and doint want to be sim swapping every day...
