> Transfer from Ericsson to Nokia vide Infra
Bookmark topic
Hi,
First posting on this forum, so excuse if its the wrong place.
I'm in search of a mobile and prefer the Ericsson. Was wondering:
1) Will it be possible to transfer either or all sound, picture, calendar, contacts from my wife's Nokia to mine and also back to hers vide the infra?
2) Which would be better the T610 or the T68i? Actually, mine is not a big budget and also it is the first time I will be using a mobile. Not interested in a Camera as I've got a decent digital one. Ideally, I would have preferred one with all features of the T610 minus the cam.
3) Anyone aware of some kind of adapter that can make a non bluetooth Nokia/Ericsson blutooth enabled?
Thanks for any assistance.
Cheers

It only depends on your wife's Nokia.
SE phones can send/receive all kinds of items through infra red.
Some Nokias don't.
Just check your wife's Nokia if in a picture's options menu there's an option like "Send through IR" or something.
Nokias 7210, 7250, 6100, etc, won't allow you to send pics or sounds through IR.
You don't have that problem with SE phones.

I think you should choose the T610 but I recommend that you try both phones and make the decision yourself.
Put simply, T610 is a phone with the later goodies and it's not that expensive. And just because it has a cam doesn't mean you have to use it.

Hey, thanks for those replies... am sorry it took me this long to view them though (its just turned day out here)!
Yes, I certainly do think its wiser to stick with the SE, though out here in the Middle East where I live, the Nokia is king. Not having a Nokia means that one is not in sync with this world.
Will check out both phones, though I saw it posted someplace here that the T610 does not have all that too good of a reception.
Regarding the sending and receiving, I guess that since my wife has the 6610, it would have the same shortcomings as the 6100 and hence would not be able to send to mine. Certainly hope that it could at the very least receive from mine!
Cheers
PS. Was wondering, how do you'll post from your handsets.

scott: because the nokia ir-protocol in that model is simply not compatible with any other phone (perhaps with other nokia's though)
