I always hear that you can sync your phone with your PC, online or with other devices. For one thing, what syncs? Does the phonebook and calendar sync? Second of all, how do you sync the devices? I keep trying, but on the T616, it always says that I need to sync "remotely" online. Can't I sync via bluetooth? What's up here?

Yes you can sync via bluetooth. It's not that easy to get it started but then it's very handy. If you have bluetooth on you computer you can also exchange themes, pictures and sound thast way.
To sync your phone you need to have either bluetooth (as you mentioned), IR or a datacable. IR is really the easiest IMHO but then again, others may tell you otherwise.
Apart from a way to sync, you'll need to have some kind of program to sync, the program that came with the CD to your phone is recommended. If you decide to try, then try searching. It dosen't seem smart to bore you with tech if you don't gonna try it either way. If you do I can help you (I think

)
The informnation that gets synced is, contacts, calendar, notes and to do.
Good luck, hope this helps you.

Ah, I see. Yes, I know about sending files (ringers, games, etc.) via bluetooth to and from the phone, as I am a big fan of doing this. However, I can't figure out how to get the devices to sync. I was told and found on this forum (from a search) that I need to create a virtual serial port. Huh? I am using XTND with my bluetooth dongle. I really am kind of lost, but I would love to be able to sync my contacts, calendar AND to do list. For me, I always send my contacts, from the phone via bluetooth to the PC. It appears as a VCF extension. Then I just add it to my address book on the PC. However, I have a feeling that syncing would be alot easier.

Have you got a Bluetooth places on your computer. You should have, go into that and I am assuming you have paired your T610 to your computer? If not do so. On my pc you can then view the services of the phone. There should be a serial port 1 and a serial port 2. If you right click on port 1 then you should have an option of which com port you want to use, I use 9. Then I recommend using Floats Mobile Manager. Within that then set the settings as a serial port and the com port you chose (9 for this example). Then let FMA connect to your phone and it should then sync your phone book and you will have a copy on your pc. However if you want to sync outlook you will have to use the software you mentioned which comes with the T610. I also didn't have much joy with it, Sony are good at making hi-fis, vcr's, DVD players but one thing they can't do is make decent software.
To sync outlook with your phone you have to use XTND which you are using then in your control panel you should have a mobile manager (or something worded very similar) open that up and you basically have to do what I explained above. Pick a com port. You’re best waiting for a reply off someone who uses XTND more than me but once you have done that XTND should work. However I do recommend using FMA because it is so much more reliable and simpler to use from my experience.
Hope that helps.

The thing that I'm currently lost at is when I go to the "Bluetooth Ports", I see that it says under Port Description, "Port Listing Unavailable". What the heck?!?!?
