hey guys
I just got a T610 this week (firmware R1L013), and there's a few things puzzling me. I've used the search function here on esato, but can't really find the right answers. So here goes:
1. What is "validity period"? I've tried to understand some of the other posts on this topic, but I still don't understand? What should I set this to?
2. What is Status Request?
3. why, at the top of my main screen, under the green phone icon, does it have a 1? I looked in the manual, and it says this means "line 1 is used for outgoing calls"... How can I have 2 lines with only 1 SIM
4. are phone numbers saved on the phone or the SIM? (or both?)
Sorry to ask all these questions

Wow, I'm surprised that no one has responded to this question yet.
First, a status report tells you that a message has been received by your message center, and that they have sent it on their way, to the recipient.
Second, a validity report applies only to MMS, and this tells the phone how long to try to resend the message if it can't at first.
I don't now about the second line information, though. Unsure.
Finally, you can save entries into both your phone and your SIM card. If you are changing phones (and you have a SONY Ericsson phone), simply copy all to SIM card, then put the SIM card into your new (SONY Ericsson) phone, then copy from the SIM card.

First, u can learn more here:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=35026
1.Validity period reffers to how long ur sms will be on the network waiting to be delivered if ur corespondent has the phone off.U can set it at whatever time u want, this is network related and it is set to 4 days. Not only MMs related but sms related.MMS apeared later than MMS.
2.Status request means that if u want a receipt that ur sms has been delivered to the number u sent, u gotta set it to "on".
3.Line 1 is used by gsm networks as default line.Line 2 means that u can have a second number on the same sim but again it is network dependant and i am sure it is set by default to 1.Leave it like this, nuthin' u can do.
4.They r saved on the phone but u can copy them to SIM too.The bad part is that u have to copy them all, it's impossible to copy them one by one.

Dude,
Other than answering the question about the double lines, isn't that what I just said? Don't you just hate when people say the same thing that you do?

@ rd: if u read ur answers u'll find that they r unaccurate( like that "only mms thing" and that other when u r unsure about something), so yes, i had to write down the correct answers..."dude".
