I would like to "poke" around with some of the system files on my P900 and just wondering if I could do any damge by playing around with them ? Presumably because the OS is on ROM the phone will always boot no matter what I change ? If I do break something would doing a restore fix any problems ? Does doing a restore replace everything on the C drive with whatever was backed up ?

It is possible to cause the phone to stop booting altogether simply by modifying/deleting/adding files in the right (wrong) place on C:.

Usually though, you can reach the service menu and perform a format. If you can't reach it because you've messed something up that was needed to (for example) enter your pin number, you can remove the pin requirement from the sim using another phone.

Also, using the online update restore option should always work, regardless of what you have managed to do.
