> P800 repair

Hi! I'm new here but I have been a supporter of SE phones. I bought a P800 3 weeks ago and I dropped it in water. Seeing that it was still working I used it for the next 2 weeks when the signal went weak. I cannot text/call anymore using my cellphone but the PDA function and camera was still ok.
I brought it to a service center and they told me that the only way to remedy the problem was to change the circuit board which really costs something like buying a 2nd hand phone.
I brought it to another service center who did a master reset of my phone using a program downloaded from the net and for a few minutes the signal was back but then after a few hours, it went back to its original problem.
Is there hope for my P800? It is a very nice phone and exact to my needs. What are my other options?
1. Change the circuit board?
2. Buy another SE like a T610 for the phone functions then just use the P800 for PDA functions?
3. Swap the phone to a brand new P800 and add cash but the value of the phone is like 1/4 the price coz it's damaged already.
4. Look for a 2nd hand P800 and just sell the damaged unit to somebody who just needs a camera and PDA from a SE.
HELP!

Uh.. you could take it to another service centre and not tell them you dropped it in water thus getting it repaired on warranty?

Not that I'd ever suggest you do that of course..

that's right, this is what he should do from the beginning.
don't you have a warranty?
anyway, don't ever choose the 2nd option...

Thanks for the answer guys!
Anyway, I just traded the busted unit with a brand new one and added cash. When I was using the new unit, there were chinese characters in the keyboard and I cant use the handwriting thingie when inputting data on my P800.
Can this be solved by a software/system upgrade so I can use the handwriting recognition feature of my P800?
Thanks again in advance!
