Can someone explain the real reason behind the mute option other than it stops the ring signal.
in this case, it goes to a voice mail, correct? if so, why not simply use the 'send busy' option?

Mute allows the phone to continue ringing, so if you want to take a call out of a meeting for example, you can mute the ringer and walk outside and pick up. Send busy immediately sends the caller to VM.

macgyver,
thanks for your feedback. so, the ring stops but you need to answer it before the 6th ring before it goes to the your voice mail.
by the way, since you are in CA, are you having problem receiving MMS (assuming you are using TMobile)

Yup, you're correct. It just shuts the ringer off, but you have the same amount of time to answer the phone.
I'm actually on AT&T, and I never use MMS, so I'm no help to you there.

It can always be nice to be able to mute calls from someone
you want to avoid if you send busy signal they know you are
with the phone if you just mute the signal you can always clame
you forgot the phone in a diffrent room or something and didn't hear
their call.

Is it also possible to change the delay time (the length of time it takes before your voicemail kicks in) from 15 seconds to 30 seconds like it was on the P800.
