Hi,

Im pretty new to the board and am having a nightmare connecting my p900 by either bluetooth or through the sync station.

Ive installed the sync station software, but the myp900 icon when clicked shows "not connected"....ive tried to fresh install a few times but get the same error.

ive had a bluetooth usb adapter (bluetake bt009s) which works perfect with my t610, but when i pair the p900 (which it does fine). i cannot create a serial port link. error i get is " connection failed - the remote device closed the connection".

ive tried to search on the board and read the manual - nothing i can find to fix these prob's.

any help much appreciated.

cheers

Have you activated the COM-port that the SyncStation is connected to? Look in Control panel->Phone monitor options->COM-port. To find out which COM-port look in Device manager and Ports->SEMC DSS-20 SyncStation.
Then try My P900, and you will see Phone Connection Link in Sys tray. Rightclick and choose USB.

This is a problem that I could nmot fix, the only way I was able to sync was thropugh a clean install of win200.
Anyway, the problems you are having will be because another app is already using or monitoring your com ports. You should try
1 Disabling any antivirus or firewall software u have and then try installing the software.
2 Get the latest version of sync software from sony ericsson
3 Boot into safe mode and try an install and sync from there.

Ps if you are using xp then it may be to do with xp s built in firewall

You need to uninstall the firewall s/w first, then install PC Suite (after uninstalling the previous copy and deleting the COM port to ensure the drivers are removed as well). Also remember the following tips:

1. Don't have a the Syn Station plugged-in when installing PC Suite
2. Use a USB port not a port on a USB hub

If you are using XP, enaure the Service Packs are the most recent (do this before anything else). Also re-boot when requested (ie after the PC Suite installation).

I did have BT connection setup problem too, it always said Failed to connect.

At last I found this guide:-

http://www.communica.se/tdk/support/Configure%20Ericsson%20PC%20Suite%20for%20the%20P900.pdf

and realized the the Error message was "NORMAL"......

Anyway, it works fine now, wish it help a bit.
