Help!!! I am in a delima! I am due to upgrade my phone at the end of the month. I currently have a Nokia 6610 and i have been thinking abiout getting the Nokia 6660. However i am very much attracted to the SE P900. Are the ringtones good? What is the pic quality like? I have read the reviews but would value some honest opinion from you all. Are there lots of freebie software out there for the P900?. Hey i think i am convincing myself to buy it. Am almost there! Hoping you can help!!

dude, with your DILEMA, i thought i was a nokia person but when i got a p900 from a 6600, i think SE is the best. pics are well displayed, sounds are in good quality. mp3's great ya could even use it as a ringer. less headaches.

it's a good buy, and goodbye to nokia crap!

There are loads of topics discussing this on here i am sure...

I will add that whilst the nokia 6600 may be liked by some, the fact that it lacks a touch screen would surely make for a difficult life when traversing menus...

Out of the 2, personally, there is no choice, the P900 just feels so much better...

You also get the bigger screen, unlimited (memory card size dependent) video recording ability, lots of software (6600, i believe is based on series 60, so there is loads of stuff for that)...but just the integration and ease of navigation is probably the biggest feature of the P900...

The only way for you to chose is to try them both and decide thereafter... we all have different requirements and (dis)likes after all...

Hi guys,

I am thinking of buying P900 also but I have several concerns.

1. Does the phone vibrate twice and then fade in the ringtone?(Similar to the cruddy SE T610 function)
2. Is there a profile selection (like Nokia and SE T610).
3. Is it capable of playing Sony's ATRAC3(plus) files (I have a Sony 70D which I would like to share mem. sticks with).

Yes.. it does.

2. Is there a profile selection (like Nokia and SE T610).

You manage each contact individually. You can even set their ring tone to silent, for those anoying girlfriends. You can also put them in folders, but I dont see anything like Nokia's profiles.

I don't think you will be disappointed with either the 6600 or P900.

From 6610 to 6600 is quite a jump so I'm you ll love it. The 6600 can't use MP3 as ringtones, but the vibrate is quite strong unlike most SE phones, P900 included. The camera on the 6600 is one of the best on the market. The P900 camera is ok, but can be gainly in low light conditions.

Emails download options on the 6600 are not as comprehensive as the P900. Where as the P900 you can chose to download header or selected sizes. But 3rd party email apps are available, if need be.

6600 can take unlimited external memory, P900 only 128mb.

But the biggest flaw in the 6600 is lack of stereo playback. That killed it for me, as I wanted to listen to MP3s.

You should go to somewhere like: www.whatmobiles.net as you would get a more unbiased opinion.

I personal think the 6600 is miles better than the T610/T630, but nowhere near as good as the P900.

I cannot wait to start messing around with it!! Are there any on the move battery charges as surely out of the box there will be no juice!!!

Thanks for you comments so far. i looked at the Nokia 6600 again too but i did not like the keypad at all!! Roll on tomorrow, wish i could press time on fast forward for as few hours!!!! Oh well only got until 3:00pm tomorrow before i escape the chains of my desk in work!!! :)

Bagpuss...

I think you have made a good choice, but what I think doesn't really matter since you have made the decision for yourself by viewing both models... something more people should do methinks...

Umm... a little bit of badish news for you though...

Don't forget about the initial charging requirements for the P900... the manual will say 4 hours (i think)... but the general consensus (in my opinion, heh!) is that the phone should initially be charged for over 16 hours, otherwise, some users have reported batteries running flat very quickly... there have been numerous mentions of this here already, maybe a search will yield more concise results thatn what I have said though...

So, my friend, you will have a bit more of a wait...

(Sorry, though its not my fault:-), I know how frustrated I was when i had mine!)
