Hello,

I have a HP Laptop 6000 running W2k and a new t68i. I tried to install a virtual IRDA port through ircomm.zip and windows Q252795_W2K_SP3_x86_en.EXE patch, but It does not work. IRDA port is working fine, I have installed and checked my palm hotsync software.

I am trying to sync using XTND Connect PC 4.6, I only can see COM1 in my phone monitor. (If I add ircomm port I could see com3 but it is unavailable with a IrSockets error).

What can I do?

Thanks and regards,

Onofre

Should only install IRCOMM or Microsoft fix, but not both.

Do you see the IR under Control Panel -> Systems -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Infrared Devices ?

Do you see Infrared Virtual COM Port appearing under "Ports" on the same window?

Hi,

I can see the Infrared POrt, I am using it with paln hotsync. What I have to do after hot fix installation?. My idea is syncronize Outlook and my mobile, and transfer images, sound, etc, from my pc to my mobile. The Phone Monitor Options software is looking only in ports com 1 and com 5. What I have to do to put the Phone monitor to look for the mobile through infrared?

Thanks and regards

When I had both IRCOMM and the hotfix, it didn't work. I removed both, the ericsson software, then re-applied the hotfix, and re-installed Ericsson suite. I didn't do anything special.

Did you try the trouble shooting option in mobile phone monitor?

How about other com ports on the laptop? Try disabling and enabling them through the BIOS setting and see if it makes a difference.

Sorry I don't have a specific solution for you, just making some suggestions that might help.

My desktop has COM1 in use, all other com ports disabled. It has 2 infrared "eyes" (one USB and one onboard). COM1 - 6 are listed under phone monitor.

Notebook has all COM ports disabled. 1 built-in infrared. COM2 - 7 are listed.
