OK, now this is probably such a basic thing that I will kick myself for asking, but here we go.
I want to disable my orange answerphone, I really am beginning to dislike it, and find it a hassel to listen to the messages..(hey if is important they will ring back)
I dialed through to the Orange Answerphone menu, and managed to turn off "missed call alerts" (they were bugging me to), but was unable to fine anything other than a "change answerphone message" and "listen to messages" option.
Anywho, Is this something i change on my Orange account? or is it part of the "redirection" service on the handset (I found a menu saying redirect: Always, when busy etc..) Anywho, if it is the Handset i am on a T610, and could comeone point me to the correct menu.
Thankie,
PD

Ok.. go to Calls - Divert Calls - Voice Calls. Then you go to When Busy and then Cancel. Do the same for Not Reachable and No Reply and that should do it.. methinks.

well, rather than still doing it, this is what is happening
After i select cancel I am getting the conformation message along the lines of...
"Divert Calls, No Reply, Cancelled"
However, if i then look at the status of the Diverts, i get
"Divert Calls, Voice Calls, No Reply, Activated, "
It dosnt seem to matter how many times i cancel and deactivate it, it turns itself back on

Orange Answerphone is set as default on your account, so disabling any diverts through your phone will revert your account back to the Answerphone!
Instead of going round in circles, call Orange. They should be able to disable the Answerphone on your account, so that if anyone calls, it says you're unavailable.
I do this when I travel abroad, so I don't have to pay the call divert costs back to my answerphone when people call and my phone is off.
Edit:
Another option is to record an Extended Absence greeting message, and turn off the option for leaving messages.
The key's for this operation are:
(Ans Phone)-3-1-4-2(stop messages)-record your message!
