When opening the Pictures app on my P800 it currently shows Unfiled pics, of which I have none.
It has regularly changed which folder it shows on first opening but seems to have no correlation to which I leave open last or which is open when I close the app or turn the phone off etc.

Does anyone know how to change or set which folder it will display first?
Please help, it's buggin me opening Pictures to see a blank screen!

Well this is what I do. I open the Pictures then choose the folder I want to view. Once I close the flip or switch to any other app the phone itself keeps in memory the folder you chosen. Even if you turn the phone off and turn it on again when you click the Pictures again you will be seen the chosen folder.

Do you use the camera on a regular basis?
the folder which the camera saves the pictures in can change which folder the pictures open to.
It only normally effects it when you open the camera app.
Set this to the folder of your choice. That way opening the camera by mistake wont revert your pictures back to unfiled.

I have tried this many many times and just tried it again now as you said just to make sure. It still reverts to Unfiled after the app has been closed or the phone restarted. While left running it remains where I leave it but thats all.

@ Gatecrasher,
I use the folder I want for the camera anyway, just called 'Pics'. the cam always uses this folder but still the Pictures app will not show it as default.

With it having changed before there must be a way of doing it but I see no relation to anything I've done when it suddenly decides to change!

I checked it on my p800 and what I found is that as long as I keep the phone on OR in flight mode the folder remains the selected one. Even after colsing the picture programme using SMAN didn't make it to go back to the default unfiled folder but if I turn my phone off completely and restart then its changed to the default, unfiled folder. So it may be solved by a firm ware update. Mine is phone R2D and Organiser R2A16.

Open your pics folder u want to stay first, and close pictures app with taskman or ericsson fileman. Not sman. After that the selected folder will always stay the first. Then u can uninstall taskman or fileman...Sounds stupid but it works!

yes.U can do anything with your phone and the folder remains the same u selected. I recommend Taskman from symbianware . Check and see that is true...is a strange thing,but nice in the same time!
