I've seen here on Esato one of the strangest ways to store your phone is in the toilett, causing water damage.

Which is the strangest way you've accidently damaged your phone, and did you get it repaired/replaced?

I guess mine is that I wanted to take some pics on my previous phone Nokia 5210 a couple of hours after I bought it - I was very proud of my first time buying a phone in a store (young and naive for a Nokia).

The photoshoot took place in the window so I could have the sky as background. And when I was done I reached to grab it and down it went. I was about 7 meters up.
The day after I told the store that the phone had the same problem as the 8210 phones ;P

I've done a little search and can't find any similar thread so I'm sorry if this is a start on an existing subject.

hmmm, i saw a similar thread a while back. try searching for a thread called "modified phones" or something along those lines. Stories of how people damaged their phones and used common nokia faults to get them replaced!

But when you modify a phone you're doing it with purpouse - and I think I told my story of my 5210 earlier in a thread.

This thread is about when the phone is damaged accidently.

This happened to a friend of mine.

He had his phone on the dashboard of his car then took one turn and the phone slided from one edge to the other on the dashboard and because he had his window open the phone went off his car and dropped on the road. You think this is funny? The story hasnt finish yet. Once he stopped to pick up the phone he realised there was no phone no more because it went flat under the wheels of a bus.

Imagine the face of my friend!

a dog munching on a P800, that must have mashed the touchscreen right up.

My nephew dropped his T610 out of his pocket while getting in the car and it hit the road and bounced into a puddle, it works fine.

I put my 5110 in a glass of water to see what it sounded like ringing underwater, i didn't think that 1 through properly! I also went to put my 6210 in my inside pocket but missed, i tried vo break its fall with my foot but accidently booted it instead smashing it off a wall. This message was posted from a T610

I found a T68i sitting in its box at work today and wondered why since it still works fine. I was told it had water damage but later found out the guy who used it was throwing it up in the air and catching it with one hand, while holding a glass of beer in the other. Luckily the glass was almost empty and only covered the phone from the base up to the middle of the keypad. The reason he can't use it is the handsfree kit for the car doesn't work and that was the main use of his phone.

I don't need a handsfree setup so I may aswell put it to good use
