I made a quick visit on Sony Ericssons z1010 site (not the sonyericsson.com/3gsmworldcongress, but on the producs site) where they say "Due to the possibility of high speed data transfer..."
And I remembered in the Windows 3.1 manual I read yesterday that the very speed of "high speed data transfer" is on 9600 bit/s...
Hmmm I thought the 3g was supposed to be faster than that

yeah but remember windows 3.1 came out when processors were 386 running at 66Mhz (if you had the doubler) and we were still using 14.4Kbps modems!
3G data runs at 384Kbps from the services I have seen so far which almost approaches minimum ADSL speeds of 512Kbps (though many run at 1Gbps or faster these days)

Oooh those old times, even a 19 year old has memories from that age...
Never saw a bluescreen nowhere..
