I've just got my hands on a TDK BlueM adapter for my Palm, and it's connecting fine to my T610 for dial up, sending SMS, etc, but I can't get it to connect to the net using GPRS using WebPro (v2.1).

It connects ok, but then sits there for about 3 minutes and comes back with:
"Communications error. Please check coverage, check URL, and try again [comm. 1]"

I'm on vodafone UK, and have full signal + GPRS coverage. I've tried it in a couple of different areas, and with different pages.

Any ideas? What settings do you use for Voda UK GPRS web browsing with a Palm? Vodafone are no help as usual!

I surf alright with Voda GPRS in sweden, and it worked when I was in London too. What it could be though since it works a while and then fails, is improper modem hangup when the Palm decides to timeout the connection.

I had a problem like yours in versamail - after the timeout or if I shut the palm down while connected I couldn't reconnect until I reset the palm or waited for a long period of time. Increasing "Modem Wait" to 20 seconds did the trick, now it works perfectly.

Check for a setting like that in your palm webbrowser or at least try disabling auto-disconnect to see if this is the source of your problem (gprs connection without traffic doesn't cost anything anyway).

Thanks for your reply, but where is this modem wait setting? I can't find it anywhere

Unfortunately there isn't one in Webpro (only in Versamail).

But try to remove the network timeout for the connection instead. Go into prefs->communication->network. Click the details button and set idle timeout to never.
