I am trying to update my p900 to the new firmware but i keep getting the Fatal Error dialogue box after
"Preparations completed
Application starting...
The application will soon open in a separate window."
I have reinstalled the seus_setup113.exe.
It used to work before my harddisk failed but i think i had seus_setup111.exe installed then.
I have also disabled any norton antivirus and firewall.
Any idea's?

I have a parallel problem like yours, I was updating my P900 and done it successfully. But when I install back all the backup using the restore button My Pc can't recognized my phone after it was switch off automatically as the case during the restore. The fault reads cannot recognized the phone in my PC and my phone display reads: restoring backup, but it hang up, you can't switch off normally you have to remove the battery. Now the Led indicators is always on as if I was in charging mode. The phone function normally aside from that led light. can any body help. I was thinking to format my internat disk but am afraid what will happened to it after the formatting.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but there's a great likelihood that performing a restore after upgrading returns some system files that are incompatible with the new upgrade.
The only way to try this is to upgrade the OS, then install all your original data manually.

Thanks for the reply, but this does not solve my problem.
My laptop can communucate perfectly with my phone, i can backup, retstore, and sync.
I only get the fatal error when doing an firmware update.

bbasra,
You could spend a lot of time fighting your firewall (turn it off completely), java, cookie killer and so on, but try running the update on another pc instead, if you have one available. May save you a lot of time...
