I really liked the first film. The art direction is very well done, and on top of that it really creeped me out (although honestly I'm very weak with horror films, I'm quite succeptable).
This sequel however I'm not so sure about. Most sequels that aren't written/thought up prior to it's first installment becomes popular end up being crap. I think it's either going to be very well written and end up being like the first, or it will be a crap rehash and will be funny because it's so bad.

A film. It's title is "The Ring". Nothing to do with the book or films titled "Lord of the Rings". I hope this clears things up.
