Guys, just checking, do all of you wait till your 'empty battery alarm' comes on before you charge your battery or do you just charge when it's still, say, half full?
Also, how long is a safe charging time? 3hrs? 4hrs? I usually use an auto timer that switches off the charger after certain number of hours to avoid overcharging the battery 'coz I always charge my battery over nite.

i charge it when i feel like it. you don't need to worry about overcharging it! it's well protected. i charge my phone over night 2 sometimes its pluged in the charger for more then 12hours and it does not matter if your phone is on or off.
just charge it man

I wait even longer, I use my phone untill it ''dies'' and then I change to my spare-bettery. This post was posted from a T68

9 DAYS!!!! Wow!!! How did you do that? Is it the normal extra slim battery (flat with phone's back surface)? Do you switch off at nite? Mine gives me around 4+ days before it dies. On average my phone is switched on about 15+hrs per day(I switch off at nite), so only about 60 actual hours. 9 days......wow....

did the same thing too...wait till the phone "dies" and changed to my spare battery...as for the charging, well I think its pretty safe to leave it over night as Ericsson has this "smart charging" for thier phones, but for me I'd rather have 2 batteries and a desktop charger. Had a bad experience last time with my T-28s. Burnt my "board" 3 times due to "overcharging" I guess or maybe I'm just plain unlucky !!!!....

Nizzy, since you're in Malaysia, may I know how much and where did you get your spare battery and desktop charger? I have a feeling that the original accessories are gonna be expensive huh? So, have you got your phone upgraded to the R4A at amcorp yet?

bought my phone and the spare batt. at Amcorp Mall (Ericserv). The additional batt. cost me RM80.00 (they gave me a discount) and make sure it's BUS-11 as they might give you the old BUS-10 (this is for T-28s). I didn't manage to upgrade my software yet, still got the old ones R3B006...I think it is safer to buy things from Ericserv or Telemas as they are the official dealer for Ericsson here, had a bad experience with these "underwater"/"local" batt., phones....

I think draining your Li-ion battery to empty before charging is not good. I charge mine when the indicator says "low-batt"

Aren't li-ion batteries free from memory effects? Do we really have to charge them only when they become empty?
