Bill Gates is not the one who created HTML. IE has to follow certain HTML standards. If that simple htm code would crash iexplore.exe then it's not the creator of the webbrowsers fault, but the RFC in itself. Read up on RFC documents for HTML and you will learn everything about it that you need to know, want to know, don't want to know and stuff you consider useless.
