I know there's been a lot of talk abou this handset, so here's what I got from 3 (UK).

Thank you for your recent email,

At the moment we have no plans to release this handset on our network. This may change in the future. All details of the handsets available on our network can be found on our website at http://www.three.co.uk.

Kind regards

All the better.... I guess we wont see 12 and 15 year old's walking around with it then...... I know it sounds bad, but thats just my opinion.

you're welcome to your opinion but I'd be happy to see 12 and 15 year olds (thats my kids ages btw) walking around with new technology and see no difference to 30 or 40 years old walking around with the same technology, except perhaps that 12 and 15 year olds are possibly our future technology designers, engineers etc and if they are inspired by the technology around them now then thats not a bad thing

@masseur couldnt agree more as long as the kids have saved there pocket money (if its still called that) or done stuff to help the parents/relatives i see no reason why kids shouldnt have the lastest technology breeds a healthy interest in the future.

well I don't really want to get into a philosophical discussion about how kids get stuff and who pays (and I have a feeling where this is coming from and we've been there with that discussion before) but honestly... what the hell does it matter how they get stuff if it has the positive results I was expressing?

I wish I had half the knowledge of technology (or interest in technology) that my kids have now when I was their age and I am certainly not going to hold them beck because they cannot buy it themselves!

A strange reply from 3 you got there. As i understand it 3 will have the Z1010 in their stores quite soon. I was in one of their stores a couple of weeks ago and the sales person told me that they were negotiating with SE at the moment, and that they would have the phones at the end of Q1. And as I understand it from vareous articles in the different paipers 3 sees the Z1010 as the phone that will get 3G on a roll here in Sweden. SE is ofcourse the most popular cellular brand in Sweden so it's not that surprising that 3 Sees the Z1010 as an ice-breaker. But things migh be different in the UK, i donät know, but I see nog logical business reason for why they woulden't have the Z1010 on the UK network. the only reason I can come up with is that they won't be able to get any handsets from SE. The vice president of TeliaSonera here in Sweden sead a couple of days ago that when they launch 3G in March there won't be enought handsets from any manufacturer to please their demand...and that includes SE.

I think u r taking this too far-i wanna reffer to the subject here...the guy answering ur email was telling u that he doesn't know if the net wioll support that phone...yet.His reply was a bit too diplomatic ..they will as soon as the demand appears.

They were testing the phone on the network in dec/jan. Maybe they unearth a bug on the live network? If 3 dont release it, they shoot themselves in the foot AGAIN. This message was posted from a Nokia
