Im not sure if this is a rumour, but apparently its going to be compulsary for phones within Europe to have a shutter sound whenever you take a photo. Even when on silent. Currently the T610 doesn't do this. You hear no shutter sound while the phone is on silent. If they were to change this in future, (This may be wishful thinking) but maybe in order to get lots and lots of people upgrade their phone to the firmware with the shutter sound permanantely on, SE might add features people want to the T610 (Socket support in Java). That way more people would go and upgrade their phones to the latest firmware, where as if they didn't, not many people would upgrade their firmware just so a shutter sound is played.
Hope you get what i mean. lol

sounds like rubbish to me I'm afraid.

the shutter sound really isn't that loud it is audible in a normal city street.

My digicam is almost completely silent.

i don't see how a 'noise' is gonna help anyway... you don't hear until the picture is taken anyway

I guess this has something to do with the privacy issue and by making the shutter sound compulsary it means you wouldn't be able to take a picture discreetly. In theory anyway.

Can't see it happening though.

Part of the fun it may be, but misused it is an invasion of privacy. Not everyone wants photos taken of them discreetly...

And the laughing smiley is : lol : with no spaces
