Just wondered if anyone else is having problems with Celesticrap!
I sent my P800 in for a new LCD 3 weeks ago - I phoned them last week and they promised it for Monday. Surprisingly it never arrived, so on phoning them again (and holding for another 20 minutes), they now tell me they are awaiting spares.
They have problems with the P800, T68i and others - they also have no replacement units either.
Anyone else had their phone in for a while or are they just spinning me a story to get me off the line?
I'm going to call SE about this tomorrow - any other comments I can pass on about our favourite repairer ?

There are multitudes of threads posted about Celestica. The summary of their services is that all the Celestica branches around the world share a commonality in crap workmanship. Celestica UK and US have come short to performing anything close to satifactory service. I did advise on starting a formal complaint letter to forward to SE since they were the ones that contracted this company to service their product. However, I think SE is just as much too blame as I'm sure they have numerous customer complaint call logs for the past year. However, if they managed to contract Celestica for a cheap price I'm sure they will favor their overhead cost over the customer complaints. I wonder if the mods could setup some kind of poll that would allow to post their gripe with Celestica service. And somehow utilize that information to allow SE to gain some awareness on the ongoing problems.

Called SE today .....
They took all the details and agreed it was crap for Celestica to have the phone 3 weeks - they said ALL repairs should be returned within 10 working days !!!
This was the outcome -
1 - They will call me back within 24 - 48 hours with an update. They can't guarantee when the phone will be returned. Why does it take that long?
2 - they will not send a loan / replacement handset - why not?
3 - They will not reimburse me for the £30 I've spent on a month's contract I can't use
4 - They won't reimburse me for the time spent on the phone trying to find someone alive at Celestica - probably about 2 hours in total now.
So much for being a CUSTOMER SUPPORT HOTLINE
Rot in hell SE, it's about all you deserve !!
One extremely pissed off customer !!!!! - others take note !!!!!

@ krad -
They basically gave you their normal billsh*% answer. It has zero value. Their course of action was lost when you hung up the phone.

@ Krad -
A more honest one then you'd get from them I'm sure. I suggest you write a letter of complaint to Corp Headquarters. I'm sure you'll find plenty of support from owners that's gone through the same hardship. By the way 3 weeks is nothing. I have found the average wait time to be more in the 4-5 week range. You'd be lucky if you get it before then. I'm also waiting on a replacement HBH-65. Lucky for me I purchased 3 of them. I think all consumers will be required to purchase duplicate SE devices. That's because the device will probably last you long enough for the free model upgrade that SE would be forced to give you because they waited too long to ship your out replacement.

Well, guess what .........
My P800 finally turned up today after 3 weeks ................ and .......
The LCD is not working - just dark strips on the screen
The camera lens is out of place
The front section of the phone is not mine - it's a different shade of silver than the rest of the phone and badly scratched.
I called SE and they won't do nothing - told me to contact Celesticrap. I told her they were impossible to contact and that the phone had been there twice already for a total of 6 weeks and she couldn't care less. I asked to speak to a superior and she said no-one was available - but she could have someone call me back in 24 - 48 hours. I told her nobody did last time and she cut me off for swearing at her. Boy am I pissed off.
I tried calling Celestica ...........and guess what ............I was on hold in a queue for 30 minutes and no-one picked my call up.
My years contract is up on the 3rd March, so I am going to beat my P800 to death with a hammer and buy a 6600. I've never had any trouble with Nokia.
The bottom line is that SE just don't give a shit and are willing to do nothing to help their customers.
I am mailing this and other threads to SE, Celestica and BBC Watchdog. If anyone else has any comments, please feel free to add them.
Cheers
Keith
