> prob with p800 replacement lcd
Bookmark topic
hi.
a friend of mine broke his lcd. while 3/4 of it still runs and the touch screen still ok, he decided to replace his lcd.
he bought a second hand lcd from a dead unit. he turned the phone on but only the backlight lit. no screen. vibra turned on, meaning phone is ok.
he returned the old screen, now the lcd wont work, even backlight dont. it still vibrates when you turn it on though.
he then installed a working 100% lcd from an ok p800 unit. same thing, no screen, no backlight, but vibrates when turned on.
any diagnosis? any cure?

do a firmware upgrade on it and it might come back to life.

Yeah, check the screen is connected to the motherboard on the other side and when you put the p800 back into eachother make sure you connect the little thing at the back under the battery.
good luck

I noticed the same thing on my first p800 with a damaged screen, its almost like the board was damaged or something, but there was a difference I noticed, the ribbon attached to the original screen was different from the screens that came after, it has different colours but the connector remains the same. However the part numbers on the sticker were different. Perhaps the older p800's use a different screen than the later version... anybody else notice this same thing?
