Hello!
I am a 2 day owner of a SE 900 which i think is a crackingly sexy little number, deffo a woman's phone!! I love the ringtones, in additon to one or two i have downloaded and the MP3 Player ROCKS!!! The ringing tones are very loud which suits me as i am deaf so i need something loud to let me know my mobi is ringing!
Anyway i do have one nagging concern...the camcorder function. The display is a bit jaundiced! Quite yellowish in colour. Is this normal? I have an o2 XDA II (rolls royce/BMW of smartphones!!!) on which the camera is superb! I also have a Nokia 6600, rubbish phone in comparison to my shiny new SE 900, but the camcorder function was it's saving grace! Can anyone advise if my camcorder is working normally or faulty?

Thanks in advance

I note that the camera is a little yellowey... moreso when the pictures are dark... outdoors, or rather in proper lighting, it ain't that bad though...

You are comparing it with something relatively superior though... having considered the XDA2 for a while, and having taken it for a test drive myself, I was largely impressed with its fullscreen camera ability, which seemed to fare much better than that of the P900 in all lighting conditions...

I would suggest it is as it should be, judging by what you have said, though if I were you, I should wait for a few more replies, if there will be any, and if you are concerned, then pop the phone back to where it came from and try another... or maybe just ask for a demonstration of another P900 in a local shop so as to compare it with yours (obviously more relevant if you originally bought yours mailorder)

As an aside, I find my mother's little Sagem (I always sing it's praises) has quite a useful camera, but that too has quite a distinct yellow tinge to it, it's also a little noisey, but this is the compromise of it providing quite viewable pictures in almost pitch darkness, moreso than those that the P900 are capable of...

Go into the preferences and change the white balance used for that profile. Using a "normal" profile is equivalent to au "outdoor" one, pick the one that matches electrical lights, and you'll have proper coloring.

You can also activate the mode that removes the flickering due to the alternative current. In europe uses the 50Hz one, in the US, 60

Has anyone noticed that changing the settings for the camcorder from high to medium has no differences in the quality or frame rate of the video, only the file size changes? what is the max resolution the communicorder app records and are there any apps out there that will record video at a higher resolution?
