I just got my t39 back after 2.5 weeks at the repair shop. It turned out that they replaced my old one with a brand new (Lid counter = 5).
The mic is working perfectly in this one, and no noise in the speaker anymore. Standby time about 235 hours, (probably my old battery)
and the firmware release is R4A.
I recognised one new "feature" though: When I put the phone in the
passive car holder (HCH-21), the keyboard becomes locked, and there is no way to operate the phone other than removing it from the holder.
I think it's still possible to use voice control, I haven't tested that.
Anyone that knows why this happens? Is it my phone or is it the new software?

I'ts feature. Keyboards are unlocked only when the car holder is connected to any HCA car handsfree set.

You may be can unlock it when you open the lid, didn't you?

No, it's entirely locked, no matter if the lid is open or not. But I think I have found out why. My previous phones and also my wife's phone is held to the dashboard by a large magnet, and in order to reduce the number of holes in the dashboard, I mounted the holder on a small iron plate, which fits onto the magnet. If I remove the holder with the phone in it from the magnet, the keys start working again. It seems like that this new T39 is more sensitive for magnetic fields than te old one. Or maybe they have changed the switch that locks the keyboard
when the lid is closed to a magnetic one?

The HCH-21 car holder is really cheap, about 150 SEK (15$) I think, since it's merely only a piece of platic. It has the same connectors as the phone at the bottom, in which you plug the cigarrette lighter adapter and the earphone (which you have to buy separate both).
The advanced car holder is far more expensive, but it contains a microphone, connections to the car stereo that turns off the radio and uses the stereo's speakers for the telephone communication. I don't know the price of that.
