A couple of months ago i was reading how you could get a p900 really cheap through various scams, where you buy the phone on a high monthly tarrif then change down to a low tarrif as soon as you get the phone. Back then i couldnt take advantage of this scam, as i was still paying off my loan for a car....

So now theres no cheap p900 deals i can find... you people know any ?

I am looking to spend between £0 ( yeah right ) and £300 for the phone AND the 12 month contract in total.

Help me get one ! im stuck with a nokia 3510 and a terribly damaged T610 due to my girlfriend dropping it when she was drunk !

"Scam" in deed... and you said that more than once too! Perhaps you should re-consider your choice of wording...

There are various deals around, perhaps a little shopping, as conducted by yourself is what is called for...

I for one don't intend searching for a reasonable deal, or as you refer to it, "scam"...

At one point you could get the phone for free, though I think this has long ended... and you now want the whole lot for £300 or less, including subscription... which narrows down your chances somewhat...

Perhaps someone who has purchased recently could be of more use... or maybe you could have a look around the forum for more detailed descriptions of purchasing your phone on a tariff suitable for you and the problems associated with such practice...

Why do you call these deals "scams"? Do you really think the likes of Orange, O2 and Vodaphone would allow you to buy a phone at prices like these and then allow you to downgrade your service if they were going to lose on the deal? Can you see any poor telephone service providers?
I got my P900 for about £150 on a £25 a month contract with Orange. And yes, I can downgrade the service after 124 days if I want to. Although I bought this from a dealer, it still came from Orange. So don't call it a scam. Read Howardforums for "real" scams.

Buy one from the link or CPW.

They are free on high tariffs and you can downgrade straight away without clawback from the dealer.

The other good deal is @ o2, it is free on o2 400 and you only have to stay on that tariff for 3 months...

Thats the type of deal i was talking about ! I'll check that out today, cheers RMG

Those scams i speak of - i mean where you get the phone on a high tarrif then change down immediately. The phone shops have wised up to this, as when i went in and asked at the CPW they told me if i changed tarrif within 3 months on Orange, they would charge me for the cost of the handset.

So now im thinking about an XDA2.

etaab,
Your statement about the staying with the contract for three months is how those shops selling phones on the lower tariffs get some money back for the phone. Most make you stay for four months or 124 days, where they get this figure from I have no idea. All I know is they won't lose money.....
I hope you find a good deal. Regards
Doug

I phoned the link a couple of days ago, they had a free p900 on a £75 a month contract, downgradable after 3 months ( although 2 months earlier they said i could change down after 1 month).

Hey man... I am not being nasty on my comments but I am just stating the obvious... think... if I can get the phone for £300 including the contract, would I not put it on ebay and get about £500 ++ for it since they will be getting mintues every month and the phone is only less than £300 !! It is a bit daft to ask but no harm trying but I HIGHLY doubt even through downgrading etc... the cheapest u can ever get will be bout £500 + maybe ? I am on £30/ month and I got the phone for £180 and for me, 30 x 12 + 180 will be what I actually pay... Why not get the P800 if you can't afford the P900 ? You can get that for £150 and it isn't all that bad... I liked the P800 which propelled me into getting the P900 which is *slightly* better... I'd say it is more tidy but no more than that... only get a P900 if you can afford it... if not, the P800 will actually do the job

Id rather get the phone for as little as possible on a high contract, then downgrade within 1-3 months.

Anyone know much about the Xda2 ? Any good ?
