I read the following From several other sources, inability of v2.0 to connect to any
networks is due to how the client connects to the servers. While
prior versions used a proxy to connect over port 80, the newest
version uses the actual ports for each connection type. Now the
ability to use various ports has to do with the Internet access plan
you are on.

For example, I'm with T-Mobile USA and here are their Internet plan
options: http://www.t-mobile.com/services/tz...iceoverview.asp
I signed up for the $4.99 per-month "Unlimited t-zones" plan.
Apparently this plan only allows browsing the Internet over the
default port 80 and every other port is blocked, so Agile Messenger
2.0 will not work with this plan. The $9.99 per-month "Unlimited
t-zones pro" plan on the other hand, does not block any ports and
therefore people on this plan are able to use Agile Messenger v2.0.

At this point the only 2 options are either to switch to the
higher-costing plan or to continue using v1.01 of Agile Messenger.
Hopefully the devs will remedy and make version 2.0 use proxy just as
1.x did.

do they make a version 1.X for the p900??? where can i get it??
thanks

I am in the US on Tmobile and was using the $4.99 plan until i saw your post. I called Tmobile and talked to a level 2 Wireless Data Group tech and he told me that all the ports are open on the $4.99 plan as well....but he did say that since the $9.99 tzones allowed you to check corporate email, internet email, etc...that it is possible that there are more ports available. Anyway, I changed to the $9.99 plan, but so far, agilemessenger 2.0 still is not working. He did say it could be anywhere from 2-48 hours before the switch occured. I will post back here in 2 days to let you know it is working or not.

You'll have to upgrade to the 19.99/mo internet plan to access all ports.

They told me the $19.99 is not a plan for the phone. They told me it is only used for letting the phone serve as a modem for your PC. The tech told me you can't use the phone to browse the internet ON the phone. The tech told me that tmobile doesn't block any of the ports on any of their tzones. (The $19.99 is not tzones, but Tmobile Internet).

As it stands right now, though, agile is NOT working on the $9.99 plan either.

I use the 19.99 plan on my phone EVERY DAY. The tech had no idea what he/she was talking about. The 19.99 plan allows you to use the phone as a modem for your PC, just as the others do. The only difference is the ports on which you are allowed to communicate.

Otherwise, all plans allow web browsing via phone or PC (using phone as modem). You are just paying for more ports when you buy a more expensive plan.

After reading your post I called Tmobile and was told that yes, you can get Free wap access on your phone but it has limits. Tmobile only allows you to look at certain web sites such as yellowpages, mapquest, more information services. The rep told me that you don't have FULL internet access with the free plan; you need of the tzones plans in order to browse the net completely especially with a PDA/smartphone.

hey guys,

i am in the process of installing Agile. i had T-Mobile T-zones $4.99 plan.

so what is the verdict here. does it work with the T-Zones plan? i just hate to install and then un-install if this does not work. plus i can't see paying $9.99 just for this.

comments??

Nope, it will not work with TMobile US version of tzones. I switched to the 9.99 plan just for AM2, but then found out I need the 19.99 plan and I refuse to pay that just to chat. So if you are in the US, then you are out of luck....also, tipicme and IM+ do not work with the US version of tzones. They also require the 19.99 plan. there is no way to "trick" the system by putting "internet" or "internet3.voicestream.com"...the only way either of those work if you have the 19.99 account active. I tried to get tmobile to activate an internet apn on my account, but they didnt fall for it...they said that is for the 19.99 plan users only and it isnt even a matter of the guy telling me what to set my phone for...your TMOBILE account must have the 19.99 tmobile internet plan active on the account.
