Is there a voice transcriber available for the p900?
I am looking for software in which i can speak either through my headset or the phone mic and the software would transcribe my words into text....

ideally this would be integrated with an email client...

but if not speach to text would be enough...
any ideas or thoughts?

thanks in advance

I don't think the P900 will ever have such an ability... it just doesn't have the processing power necessary for such a task...

Look at speech to text recognition on "normal" computers... forgetting the issue of teaching the damned thing to start with, the system in question would need much power to process the voice and match words said to a dictionary... since the P900 has no hard drive, this necessity of a dictionary may result in many a swap of undersized duos... further, most require a time to analyse the voice that has been recorded... this takes a good hour or so at best, probably a few days on the P900... I recall my old 166mhz pc with 16mb of ram (those were good ol' days, when graphics were crap, and windows took 10 minutes to start up!) taking upwards of 24 hours to analyse early editions of voice recognition programs... the P900 battery wold run out first!

I believe the XDA2 has some form of voice recognition, but I think this is only for activating programs... and thats with a 400Mhz processor...

Perhaps we should just settle with voice tags only for the P900 hey ?
