Looking at the phone it looks like you can add in input types. has anyone yet created a new type of handwriting tool? Eg scrible style?

I use CalliGrapher on my iPAQ and I am sure something like this would make px00 users very happy

Yeah an app that could recognise whole words would be good but it'd need to be more accurate than the P800s letter recognition.

isn't the p900 with the best pda based handwriting recognition?

I have to agree, there is nothing quite like the input options of a Pocket PC. The P800 recognition is decent I guess but it is restricted by the one letter input (as opposed to full sentence capailities of Pocket PCs, as mentioned).

Another thing which is incredibly useful on PPC is the ability to use standard space/backspace strokes (the same way you do when you're using the handwriting input method) but on top of the virtual keyboard. You can even do a capital letter by clicking on the letter and then sliding the stylus upwards to indicate shift. Saves you having to jump to the space/backspace/shift keys all the time.

One other thing I really find annoying is the odd spacings on the virtual keyboard- like eg. "e" is supposed to be directly above "d" etc. I mean if you're going to opt for a keyboard layout instead of handwriting that generally means the person would be quite familiar with the standard keyboard layout and would become irritated by the irregularities of the on-screen keyboard.

If software were released updating the input methods with such features I'd be more than interested in purchasing it.

Never liked HWR on PocketPC. Much prefer the simple but quick method on P800/P900 (you can have too many option sometimes) and rarely make any mistakes now.

Even did a writting challenge with a couple of my collegues who have had PocketPC's for a while & I always beat them with the P900.

Plus you still get to see all the application your working in unlike some of the writting options on the PocketPC or writting space on the Palm's

if you ask the only thing i would want is these letters:
š,è,ž
i mean i can't even write notes in my own language
though it doesn't bother me because i rarely use them even ony my pc, or my pocket pc BUT it does make me sad seeing this, it seems like se is just doing phones for big countries and they don't give a shit about smaller ones....
even my first nokia had slovenian letters but noooo ericsson didn't care about this i was actually optimistic with p900 because i saw that t610 has those letters but nooooo why would se put š,è,ž in p900 that's obviously too much for them!
man every second person i see has a se in slovenia, most of them are t610, se are the best phones in 2003 in slovenian magazines, but noooo why would se care about three f**kin letters!!!!
and to put a dot on i, the š,è,ž letters on t610 are the last letters in the alphabet!!!!
it should be like this A,B,C,È....S,Š.....,Z,Ž
BUT NOOOOO! se doesn't care about alphabet! christ i was looking for a contact the other day and i couldn't find it because it started with è!!!!!
christ this topic really made me mad x
