A few months back, I used to read these forums daily, and I had an awfl lot of knowledge about my p800 (although I didn't post much). Since then, I've been so busy I barely have a chance to even glance at the top topics here.

Anyway.. I've obviously filled up the phone's internal memory too much, and now upon startup I get the message:

"The internal file system was found to e corrupted and will now be reformatted"

I havn't done a backup for at least two months, probably more like 3. I have lot of important contacts, and even more important jotter notes that I need to get back. I know I was stupid for not backing up the phone; my business has suddenly exploded and I have literally been left with no time (at only 17).

Even more importantly, I have about 200 texts from a girl, which I NEED to get back. They mean an awful lot to me.

Reformatting will obviously wipe the stuff (I've had this problem before, and since then started doing regular backups, which then tailed off..). I read somewhere (not even sure it was this forum, it could have been hofo) that there is another (non SE) backup utility which might be able to get the stuff for me. I can't find that information anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm willing to try absolutely anything, but I really do need to get that stuff back. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, all I need to is be able to get back into the phones file structure, delete a few pictures, and it will boot fine.

Thanks!
Dave Nash

From what I've read on this forum about the known issue with filling the RAM on a P800, I'm afraid it looks like the only recourse will be to go ahead with the format, as it seems you won't get the P800 back into operation any other way.

Bad luck m8ty, the same thing happened with my P800.
I lost loads of important contacts/photos/texts/codes etc.. after formatting & didn't know who was texting me half the time, lost all the codes for the doors at work & missed out on a lot of flirtation. A lot of girls won't reply to "who's this? I've lost my contacts!"...
I always save important no's to SIM & backup whenever i can.
Sorry i don't know of a way to access the phone without reformatting first.

Good luck!
